HomeFax Home Integrity Reports Inc. ("HomeFax," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what choices you have.
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the HomeFax website and platform (the "Platform"), including Visitors, Buyers, Homeowners, and Inspectors. This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.
HomeFax is subject to Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation.
Buyer Accounts: When you create a Buyer account, we collect your full name, email address, and phone number. This information is required to create your account and communicate with you about your purchases.
Inspector Accounts: When you apply for an Inspector account, we collect your full name, email address, phone number, CAHPI certification number (or equivalent), and payment information necessary to process payouts to you.
Homeowners: HomeFax does not collect personal information directly from homeowners. Homeowners engage inspectors directly and their information may appear in inspection reports uploaded by inspectors.
Communications: If you contact us by email or through the Platform, we collect the content of your message and your contact information.
When you visit the Platform, our servers may automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit.
HomeFax uses Stripe as our third-party payment processor. Your payment card details and banking information are collected and processed directly by Stripe. HomeFax does not receive, store, or have access to your full payment card number. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
When a Buyer purchases a Tier 2 walk-through, we share the Buyer's contact information with the inspector to facilitate scheduling.
We share the information necessary to process payments and payouts with Stripe, our payment processor.
We may share information with third-party service providers who help us operate the Platform, such as hosting providers and email delivery services. These providers are contractually required to protect your information.
We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.
HomeFax uses only essential cookies that are strictly necessary for the operation of the Platform:

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal information within thirty (30) days.
Inspection reports are retained by HomeFax for platform integrity, quality assurance, and historical records, even after the public validity period expires.
Records of purchases and payouts are retained for a minimum of seven (7) years in accordance with Canadian tax requirements.
Under PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy legislation, you have the following rights:
You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you.
You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
You may request deletion of your account and personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
If you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy concern, you have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
The HomeFax Platform is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
HomeFax stores and processes personal information in Canada.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify registered users by email or through a notice on the Platform at least thirty (30) days before the changes take effect.
